In 2019 The Duncalfes retired from working with MAF  in Papua New Guinea and returned to the UK.

Michael and Nicki have been part of the MAF team in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since 1994, and are continually impressed – even after all this time – about how essential MAF’s ministry is for missions, national churches and remote communities.

Michael flies the DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft and also has training and management responsibilities. Much of his flying involves training or carrying out routine pilot flight checks. He also has an authorised flight examiner approval from the PNG aviation authority which permits him to carry out flight tests for students from the MAF Aviation Training Centre as well as other organisations.

Nicki has a number of support roles. She runs an initial language and orientation course for new staff, helps with some aspects of IT and allocates housing for international staff in Mount Hagen.

Family-wise, they have four sons, Andrew, Richard, Peter and Philip and their home base in the UK is at Blackwater near Camberley, Surrey.
