The VCF Produces a seeing practice database, consisting of practices containing at least one VCF member which are in a position to have students come and see practice. This database will be made available to the Christian Unions at the veterinary faculties of the UK and Dublin vet schools and VCF members (though we cannot guarantee that its circulation may not be wider). We believe that having students to see practice is a wonderful opportunity for VCF members to be a real blessing and encouragement to students in their clinical years. It can also be a challenge to us to make sure that we live out in our workplace the faith we profess. For many students “seeing practice” can be an anxious time. Sometimes in new company; an unfamiliar environment; feeling like a spare part; desperate to get to do something practical (with an animal); not wanting to appear pushy; or wondering if the finances will cover the accommodation, seeing practice with a Christian vet can help alleviate some of these anxieties.
Hopefully this will enable more Christian Vets to be a practical and spiritual blessing to many students.
