The VCF weekend offers an opportunity to meet and and share with others who share that common bond of an interest or passion for Jesus combined with a heart for the veterinary profession. It offers a place where the two can be understood to work together for God’s glory and purpose.
The weekend offers a unique opportunity for everyone to come together in a relaxed, informal way, to ask questions and to have space and time to consider how we share Christ’s love in the veterinary world in the ministry that he has given to each one of us. It also offers the chance to find “Paul’s” to mentor and support us on our journey, and to find “Timothy’s” that we in turn can help and support on theirs.

The Theme is  “Jesus the healer. What do his healings teach us about him?" our speaker is Dr. Keith Warrington (BA, MPhil, PhD) Dr. Keith Warrington (BA, MPhil, PhD).  Who was, until Autumn 2013, the Vice Principal and Director of Doctoral Studies at Regents Theological College where for 30 years he had been a lecturer in New Testament studies. As well as still lecturing in Theological Colleges, he spends his time preaching and teaching in the UK and abroad. He has established teaching programmes for church leaders, especially in the Majority World and also been engaged in a programme entitled ‘Word and Spirit’ which he and his wife, Judy, established in 2014. The purpose of the course is to help Christians engage with the Bible in ways that are transformative and  enjoyable. He has written 10 books and many journal articles and booklets. He and Judy have two married children, Luke and Anna-Marie, and five grand-daughters aged from 3 to 8. What he enjoys most about  his professional life is the opportunity to explore God through the Bible with people who want to learn - a great privilege.

It’s with this in mind that at the Conference, he is going to be exploring some of the healings performed by Jesus with three questions in mind. (i) Why did the writers include these stories in their Gospels? (ii)  Why did they record them in the distinctive ways that they did? (iii) What have they got to do with us? To answer each question, we will need to become first century people for a while and take advantage of our gift of curiosity and then the stories will reveal their gems.

You may arrive from 5pm on Friday, and the first session will begin at 8pm. Tea and coffee will be available on arrival, but there is no evening meal provided on Friday. The last session will finish at 4.15pm on Sunday.
